Friendly Fortune✨
Friendly Fortune is a non-governmental organization established in 2020, it is located in Soweto township, it provides educational and social empowerment to the society. It creates awareness among people regarding HIV/AIDS, COVID-19 And GBV. It also raise funds to help the less fortunate buying them food hampers, blankets and giving clothes to help them fight poverty.
Ever since COVID-19 struck, Friendly Fortune creates awareness and educates the community about COVID-19 and the importance of following the COVID-19 precautions that are from the World Health Organization. It provides face masks and sanitizers to the community and encourage them to practice social distancing when they are in a public or crowded place. COVID-19 is a kind of common virus that causes an infection in the nose, sinuses or upper throat, it is a disease that caused by SARS-CoV-2 that can trigger a respiratory tract infection, however it can affect either your upper or lower respiratory tract. it can spread mainly through person-to-person contact and it range from mild to deadly, so it is important that people protect themselves from others because you'll never know who has it and who doesn't. This organization encourages the community to go and vaccinate because vaccines work with your immune systems so it will be ready to fight the virus if you are exposed, it helps by keeping you from getting seriously ill even if you do get COVID-19 and getting yourself vaccinated may also protect people around you; but there is misinformation spreading around the community that vaccines are not good for humans. People say that vaccines makes you sick with COVID-19 of which it's not true. According to Dr. Cunningham, there are no live virus in the vaccines, so they can't infect You. Basically the vaccine makes our bodies produce one single protein from the virus. Others believe that COVID-19 vaccine' s effectiveness and safety cannot be trusted since researchers rushed it's development, this is false. "The COVID-19 vaccines themselves were developed quickly, but the trails, which examine safety and efficacy, weren't rushed at all", states Dr. Cunningham, he also adds and say "safety was not compromise in any way. What happened quickly was finding the vaccine to test". Another myth circulating around the community it that COVID-19 vaccine will enter your cells and change your DNA, the community s very concern but apparently this myth is untrue. The COVID-19 vaccine will not alter your DNA, according to research, the COVID-19 vaccine rely on and use messenger RNA which has a piece of genetic code that doesn't in any way alter the DNA in our cells. mRNA is fragile and quickly degardes once inside the body, however people get scared that mRNA will cause the virus to go into our DNA and mutate us, but it doesn't even go into the centre part of the cell where we have our DNA.
It is important that people do their research first rather than believing what other people are saying, for more information about the the COVID-19 vaccines visit "Understanding How COVID-19 Vaccines Work | CDC" https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/different-vaccines/how-they-work.html.
Friendly Fortune encourages people to stop believing in these conspiracy theories about the vaccines and do their research. Our government is helping us fight the Coronavirus and the only way to fight it, is to follow the COVID-19 precautions and vaccinating. Coronavirus is real so it's important that we vaccinated so that we can be protected against it.
